Question: As a designer, could you please explain the basic economic system of Europe ? For example, the designer’s salary system, or where are the designer’s main profit coming from?
Answer: There is a legistlation protecting the intellectual rights of the designer. As a designer, depends on your position in the company or if you have your own studio then you could make more income but still depends on the client or market response.
Designers can charge according to special fee-regulation, the HOAI, However, less experienced ones may not get this, they get less. While the better and/or more experienced designers can charge much more. Employed designers get a salary/wage from the company.
The designer’s main profit coming from commissions.
Question: What are the main factors promoting the creation of designers?
Answer: The designer makes a contract with some company producing e.g. furniture. She gets a provision from every e.g. chair, which is sold and designed by her.
Question: What are the main factors influencing the creation of designers?
Answer: The designer has a fame or is known by everybody and gets the contracts from this basis.
Question: How to decide whom the copyright shall belong to in a design agreement?
Answer:The general ethics and also legislation protects the designers rights.
Question: Do you have any experience of the intelligence right trouble?
Answer:Yes, in China. The publisher doesn't pay me automatically and yearly publishing my books - although I have the contract. I have to ask it.
Question: In which? aspects are these invasion problems aroused?
Answer:This seems not to be automatically clear in China. In China it seems that you have the idea that non-material value is no value.
Question: According to international standard and your experience, how to protect the Answer: Intelligence right in the industry design field?
I think the only way is to make a contract as early as possible.
